  • The judicial power is vested in one supreme court
  • Inferior courts as the congress may from time to time to order and establish
  • Supreme and inferior court judges hold their offices only during good behavior
  • ^ and at certain times will receive a compensation that can not be token away during their time in the office

Section 2- Trial by Jury, Original Jurisdiction, Jury Trial
  • The Supreme Court has original power
  • The supreme court also has power of deciding who gets the power over law by lower courts, but, they are under the regulations by the congress.
  • The trial of committed crimes, except for impeachment, should be held in the state where the crime was committed.
  • If it is not committed in a certain state, the trial should be where the congress wants it to be.

  • The definition of treason concerned some authors.
  • They thought that it was used to widely to define any opposing opinions.
  • They said that their new country would narrow down what the word treason means and how you would even decide if a person displayed it.
  • Now, treason is only defined as going against the USA in war or aiding the enemies of the USA.
  • The accused must admit to committing treason or there has to be two witnesses that say so.
  • The authors also were concerned that the only person who would suffer from the treasonous acts would be the one accused.
  • The relatives may not be considered traitors because of relations.
  • When the traitor dies the payment is done
